San Antonio, Texas
Fronting a busy thoroughfare, this millwork shop and material storage structure for a construction company accomplishes a twofer for the business – a building and a billboard. The crisp composition of the street-facing façade speaks both to the group’s interest in design and to their execution abilities. Twin pre-engineered metal buildings behind the façade accommodate the two programmatic functions. One, open and flexible, houses the woodworking equipment. The other, divided into nine project and trade store rooms, provides organization and increases efficiency. Water collected in the center valley of the adjacent gable roofs passes through a slot in primary façade and is conveyed into a concrete collection basin via a projecting steel scupper.
